What has this week been like for you?
-pretty crazy

If you could change anything in how you did your capstone, what would it be?
~to redue the performances for better takes

How close is the final outcome to what you originally thought it would be?

-exatcly what i thought it would be, maybe i would like to change the performances

If you had one more month to work on the project what would you do?
-To date the website with a flash menu

What advice do you have for me about working on my capstone?
-You dont have all the time in the world, use it wisely and treat the first month like its the last month

Address the efficacy of the approach we took in this class.
-I much preferred the one on one session with my advisor, overall all it wasnt terrible nor outstanding. I did not further development my capstone due to the requirements or things learned in the class, which i view as a negative. The highlight of the Gantt chart was useful, it would have been effective if I was not past that part already..

Discuss whether or not the breakdown of the project development was advantageous.
-I did like breaking the project down, most helpful was making the Gantt chart.

Discuss the advanges and/or disadvantages of the student guest speakers for forming your own approach to capstone.
+ got to see work, hear their stories, gain ideals
– some had negative things to say, took away from time to work and/or talk about our own capstones, some projects not that impressive

Were there any assignments that you thought were particularly helpful? Please elaborate.
-I like the Gantt chart, settings things out visualy was nice.

Were there any assignments that you thought were particularly useless? Please elaborate.
-updating wordpress blogs, I understand the concept but feel its busy work and doesnt help with the sole purpose of the class, to prepare for capstone. I have zero intentions of using this blog for reference next semester. I think coming up with a small part, any part of the capstone that you are going to use in your actual capstone would have been a more productive time usage. Example being the lower thirds graphic for someone doing a video..

My overview for the budget was 2 zero zero zero, that may have been on the lower side..had previous 2 gocam heros for extra/strange shots, some random tripods, computer set up, …. and so on.

over 2300 so far and still have to account for traveling to fort wayne, around indy and bloomington for artist interviews. I saved over 1000 so far by buying used gear, you just need to be smart about it and know who your buying from. Pictures soon

10 make a dollar, been looking at 35 and 85mm lens, rigs and the likes the last 5 days while ive been off work and school sick. druqks made me better

I used open project to make a gantt chart, it was pretty easy and help more then a line with marks on it.

I came up with a project charter and wbs sheet for the catpstone. It was helpful in getting everything in order and written down. I’m on track as far as time and budget, i am going to start making preliminary lower thirds next week to brush up with AE. I am leaving documents for my mentor tomorrow evening.

the spoken word, it can showcase verbal masterpiece in the rawest and most timeless form, the voice stands alone, it cant be lost behind techno pop drums or so called “commerical” these are artist not performers and what i wish to explore

seconday mentor could play the role assistant coach, before the class i did not consider one, and still do not really like the ideal. I do want my mentor to help push my project and make me expand my goal/views/ect, but I still want it to be a project that stems from an ideal I had the roots for, 2 cooks are enough in the kitchen for a project that is set to showcase what a student has learned/capable of producing.

If it were a requirement, i would have a number 2 that is completely outside the field and offers a perspective from an “average user”. If your going for pop hits, the number 2 would be a 8-16 year old girl. For a documentary style video, I would think a an older man 48-60 years old or a middle aged female 30-45 (whom have no experience in video, ect, other then being a consumer)…My grandfather, Jim, and a fighter at my gym, Cathy, come to mind.

anthems have their place…K WILZ

Uncovering and exploring the creative drive of artist in a documentary style video….. knowledgeable, easy to talk to, great in their field, experience with coaching…..tenant- video, mark- audio, edward- video, tenant is open and is my current mentor, mark hasnt returned an email, and edward has stated that hes open to help students with anything even cooking…

My theme for capstone would be video for sure.

This class is making me think of my independent study class with susan alot. Its been ok, going over some ideals that I had before I settled on my capstone ideal. I have thought of different ways to present it, which has been nice.

This weekend, ive been rearranging my house and making the extra bedroom my music and video bay – which was previously where a dinning room would reside. Should have it all set up by tomorrow night.

IAMS keeps em shinin'

ideals for capstone project

1 – Documentary showing how verbal artist are inspired and manifest their ideals

2- Project showing the effects of audio compression on the listener, how the music is perceived and effects it may have on the mood on of the listener

3- A musical experience with the artist I have worked with thus far, with some kind of visual to co-inside with it

I would like capstones to showcase a skill set of mine that I have honed during my time thus far in college.
